Taita Hills is a spectacular wildlife destination in Kenya where you can experience the African wilderness by day and after dark. This two-day safari combines exciting game drives with an unforgettable night safari accompanied by a ranger, giving you the opportunity to witness nocturnal wildlife and observe the fascinating activity of the savannah after sunset.

Day 1: Your Hotel to Taita Hills

Your 2-Day Taita Hills Safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your resort or apartment at 5:30 AM.

We set off towards Taita Hills, travelling along the scenic Kaloleni road, an area associated with the filming of the famous movie Out of Africa. Enjoy beautiful views along the journey, including coconut palms, banana plantations and acacia trees as we travel through the Kenyan countryside.

We expect to arrive at the Taita Hills Reserve at approximately 9:30 AM, where your first game drive begins.

Morning Game Drive

Explore the reserve until approximately 1:00 PM, searching for wildlife and enjoying the spectacular landscapes of Taita Hills.

After the morning game drive, we head to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

Your accommodation is at a unique lodge built on stilts, offering a memorable setting surrounded by the natural beauty of the area.

Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we head out for another game drive.

Continue exploring the reserve as the afternoon progresses, searching for wildlife and enjoying the changing scenery until sunset.

After the game drive, we return to the lodge for dinner.

Night Safari with a Ranger

At approximately 7:00 PM, the adventure continues with a night safari accompanied by a ranger.

After sunset, the savannah takes on a completely different atmosphere. Many animals become active at night, offering the opportunity to observe nocturnal wildlife and experience the bush from a new perspective.

Depending on wildlife activity, you may witness fascinating scenes of animals hunting and other nocturnal behaviour.

The night safari continues until approximately 9:00 PM, after which we return to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Overnight: Lodge or tented camp inside the reserve.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Return to Your Hotel

Start the second day with an early morning game drive through Taita Hills.

At approximately 6:00 AM, we set off for another early game drive, exploring the reserve until around 8:30 AM. The morning offers another opportunity to enjoy the scenery and spot wildlife before leaving Taita Hills. We go back to the lodge for breakfast.

Return to your hotel

At approximately 9:30 AM, we leave Taita Hills and begin our journey towards Watamu.

Enjoy the changing landscapes along the way as we travel back towards the coast.

We expect to arrive at your hotel approximately 1:30 PM, around lunchtime.

Your 2-Day Taita Hills Safari with Night Safari comes to an end after an exciting wildlife adventure both during the day and after dark.
