ITINERARY
DAY 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Depart from Nairobi Airport or your hotel and travel towards Samburu National Reserve.
The journey takes approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, with arrival around lunchtime.
Check in at your selected lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch.
After an afternoon break, head out for your first game drive, exploring Samburu and its distinctive landscapes until sunset.
Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 2: Full-Day Samburu Safari
Depart at sunrise after breakfast for a full day of safari in Samburu.
Spend the day exploring the reserve and observing its wildlife and beautiful natural surroundings.
Lunch will be enjoyed as a packed lunch, allowing you to remain out in the reserve throughout the day.
Continue the game drive into the afternoon before returning to your selected lodge or tented camp in the late afternoon.
There is also an opportunity to visit a Samburu village and experience the local culture.
Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta / Nanyuki
After breakfast, depart at 6:30 AM and leave Samburu for Nanyuki and Ol Pejeta.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
On arrival, begin your game drive and explore the reserve until lunchtime.
The Ol Pejeta area lies within the wider Mount Kenya region, an important natural landscape recognised for its environmental significance.
At approximately 1:00 PM, arrive at your lodge for lunch.
After an afternoon break, depart at 4:00 PM for another game drive until sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 4: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and travel towards Lake Nakuru.
The journey takes approximately 5 hours.
On arrival, begin your safari before stopping at the lodge for lunch.
After an afternoon break, continue your game drive at 4:00 PM, searching for rhinos, flamingos and other wildlife around the lake and surrounding areas.
Continue until sunset before returning to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 5: Lake Nakuru – Lake Bogoria
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and leave Lake Nakuru for Lake Bogoria.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Lake Bogoria National Reserve covers approximately 110 square kilometres and lies within Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, an area shaped by significant volcanic activity.
During your visit, you can see the remarkable steam vents and geysers emerging from the rocky ground.
Lake Bogoria is also known for its flamingos and is home to the greater kudu, a distinctive species of antelope.
After exploring the reserve, continue to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon break.
At 4:00 PM, head out for another game drive until sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 6: Lake Bogoria – Hell’s Gate – Lake Naivasha
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and leave Lake Bogoria for Lake Naivasha.
Your first stop is Hell’s Gate National Park, reached after approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Here, enjoy a two-hour cycling safari accompanied by rangers.
Cycling through the park offers a unique way to experience the landscape, with opportunities to see giraffes, zebras, antelopes and other wildlife.
At approximately 1:00 PM, continue to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
At 4:00 PM, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake situated near the town of Naivasha.
The lake is home to hippos and numerous bird species, including herons and eagles, as well as other wildlife.
At approximately 6:00 PM, return to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 7: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and leave Lake Naivasha for the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve.
The journey takes approximately 5 hours.
Arrive at the reserve and begin your first game drive, continuing until lunchtime.
After lunch and an afternoon break, head out again at approximately 4:00 PM for another game drive.
Explore the Masai Mara until sunset before returning to your selected lodge or tented camp.
Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 8: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari
After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara, including areas around the Mara River.
The river and surrounding plains provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. During the migration season, this is also one of the areas where the movement of wildebeest and zebras can be experienced.
Enjoy a packed lunch during the day’s safari so that you can remain in the reserve throughout the day.
Continue your game drive until the afternoon before returning to your selected camp or lodge.
Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 9: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Depart at 6:30 AM for a final morning game drive in the Masai Mara.
Continue exploring until approximately 8:00 AM, then leave the reserve and travel towards Nairobi.
Arrive in Nairobi at approximately 1:30 PM for lunch and relaxation.
At approximately 4:00 PM, head out for an afternoon visit to the Giraffe Centre.
Here, you will have the opportunity to see giraffes from very close range and, as part of the experience, feed them.
After the visit, return to your hotel.
Dinner and overnight accommodation in Nairobi.
DAY 10: Nairobi – Amboseli
After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel towards Amboseli National Park.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
On arrival, begin your game drive and continue exploring the park until lunchtime.
Stop at your lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation.
At 4:00 PM, head out for another afternoon game drive until sunset.
Amboseli is particularly famous for its elephants and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating one of Kenya’s most iconic safari landscapes.
Return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 11: Amboseli – Tsavo West
Depart at approximately 8:00 AM and leave Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park.
Arrive at approximately 9:30 AM and begin your safari at the spectacular Mzima Springs.
Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a walking safari accompanied by a ranger, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles and tilapia fish.
After the experience, enjoy lunch and relaxation at Ngulia Lodge.
In the afternoon, head out for a game drive through Tsavo West until sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 12: Tsavo West – Taita Hills
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for an early morning game drive through Tsavo West.
Continue your safari until approximately 9:30 AM, then leave Tsavo West and travel towards Taita Hills.
Taita Hills offers the opportunity to experience Kenya’s wildlife after dark through an exciting night safari accompanied by a ranger.
Arrive at the reserve at approximately 10:00 AM and begin your game drive.
Continue until approximately 1:00 PM, then arrive at your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Accommodation is at a lodge built on stilts, offering a unique setting within the reserve.
At 4:00 PM, head out for another afternoon game drive until sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner.
At 7:00 PM, begin your night safari accompanied by a ranger.
After dark, the reserve takes on a completely different atmosphere. You may encounter nocturnal animals and witness wildlife activity that is rarely seen during daytime game drives.
At approximately 9:00 PM, return to the lodge for overnight accommodation.
DAY 13: Taita Hills – Tsavo East
Depart at 6:30 AM for another morning game drive in Taita Hills.
Continue exploring the reserve until approximately 10:00 AM, then leave Taita Hills and travel towards Tsavo East National Park.
At approximately 11:00 AM, begin your game drive in Tsavo East and continue until lunchtime.
Proceed to your lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, head out for another game drive through Tsavo East until sunset.
Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 14: Tsavo East – Watamu / Malindi / Mombasa
Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for your final morning game drive.
Continue exploring Tsavo East until approximately 10:30 AM, giving you one final opportunity to experience the park and observe its wildlife.
Leave the park and continue towards Watamu, Malindi or Mombasa, with arrival expected around lunchtime.
Your 14-day Kenya safari comes to an end as you arrive at your chosen coastal destination.
