Kenya Safari Guide

Good safari planning is less about fitting in every park and more about matching your route to arrival point, available nights, travel pace and the wildlife experiences you value most.

Choose the Right Starting Point

Guests already in Watamu or Malindi should usually begin with Tsavo East and the southern circuit. Travellers arriving in Nairobi have easier access to the Masai Mara, Rift Valley and northern Kenya.

Allow Enough Time

A one-day safari can work well for Tsavo East from Watamu, but every additional night creates more flexibility for game drives and lodge time. For multi-park circuits, avoid changing lodges simply to increase the destination count.

Pack for Early Mornings and Dust

Bring light layers, sun protection, comfortable closed shoes, a small day bag, reusable essentials, camera power, binoculars if available and any personal medication. Keep luggage practical if the safari vehicle will carry several guests.

Expect Nature, Not a Checklist

Wildlife moves freely and sightings depend on season, habitat, weather and chance. A strong safari gives your guide enough time and flexibility rather than promising specific animals at specific places.
