Experience an incredible 11-day Kenya safari taking you from the northern landscapes of Samburu to the world-famous Masai Mara and onward to Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East.

This is an exceptionally diverse safari combining Samburu National Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Nairobi, Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East.

Along the way, you will encounter spectacular wildlife, dramatic landscapes and some of Kenya’s most memorable conservation experiences. Highlights include a Samburu village visit, wildlife viewing at Ol Pejeta, the rhinos and flamingos of Lake Nakuru, the Masai Mara savannah, Nairobi’s elephant and giraffe conservation experiences, the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop in Amboseli, Mzima Springs in Tsavo West and the vast wilderness of Tsavo East.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Depart from Nairobi Airport or your hotel and travel towards Samburu National Reserve.

The journey takes approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, with arrival around lunchtime.

Check in at your selected lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch.

After an afternoon break, head out for your first game drive, exploring Samburu and its surrounding landscapes until sunset.

Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: Full-Day Samburu Safari

Depart at sunrise after breakfast for a full day of game viewing in Samburu National Reserve.

Spend the day exploring the reserve and observing its wildlife and distinctive landscapes.

Lunch will be enjoyed as a packed lunch, allowing you to remain out in the reserve throughout the day.

In the afternoon, continue your game drive before returning to your selected lodge or tented camp in the late afternoon.

There is also an opportunity to visit a Samburu village and experience something of the local community and culture.

Dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta

After breakfast, depart at 6:30 AM and leave Samburu behind, travelling towards Nanyuki and Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, begin your game drive, exploring the reserve until lunchtime.

Ol Pejeta is located in the foothills of Mount Kenya and is an important wildlife conservation area, with its natural environment receiving national recognition and UNESCO recognition associated with the Mount Kenya region.

At approximately 1:00 PM, arrive at your lodge for lunch.

After a short afternoon break, depart at 4:00 PM for another game drive until sunset.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 4: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and leave Nanyuki for Lake Nakuru.

The journey takes approximately 5 hours.

On arrival, begin your safari around Lake Nakuru before heading to the lodge for lunch.

After an afternoon break, at 4:00 PM continue with an afternoon game drive in search of rhinos, flamingos and other wildlife.

Continue exploring until sunset before returning to the lodge.

Dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and travel from Lake Nakuru towards the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

The journey takes approximately 5 hours.

Arrive at the reserve and begin your game drive, continuing until lunchtime.

After lunch, take an afternoon break at your accommodation.

At 4:00 PM, head out for another game drive through the Masai Mara and continue until sunset.

Return to your selected lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 6: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari

After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara, with the safari taking you towards the Mara River.

This area offers excellent opportunities to observe wildlife and, during the migration season, witness the movement of wildebeest and zebras through the ecosystem.

Enjoy a packed lunch during the day’s safari so you can remain out in the reserve for longer.

Continue your game drive throughout the afternoon before returning to your selected camp or lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 7: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Depart at 6:30 AM and leave the Masai Mara for Nairobi.

At approximately 10:45 AM, arrive at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an elephant orphanage in Nairobi, for a visit of approximately one hour.

Here, you can observe the rescued elephants up close and learn about the conservation work carried out to care for orphaned elephants.

After the visit, continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you can see giraffes from close range and, as part of the experience, have the opportunity to feed them.

After approximately one hour at the Giraffe Centre, continue to your hotel for lunch while taking in the sights of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city.

The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at your Nairobi hotel.

DAY 8: Nairobi – Amboseli

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and leave Nairobi for Amboseli National Park.

Arrive at approximately 10:00 AM and begin your game drive through the park.

Continue your safari until approximately 1:00 PM, then proceed to your lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation.

At 4:00 PM, head out for another afternoon game drive.

Explore Amboseli until sunset, with opportunities to see wildlife against the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 9: Amboseli – Tsavo West

Depart at 7:30 AM after breakfast and leave Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park.

Arrive at approximately 9:30 AM and begin your safari at the spectacular Mzima Springs.

Mzima Springs is known for its clear waters and wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles and tilapia fish.

Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a walking safari accompanied by a ranger, providing a different perspective of the natural surroundings.

After the activity, enjoy lunch and relaxation at Ngulia Lodge.

In the afternoon, head out for a game drive through Tsavo West until sunset.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 10: Tsavo West – Tsavo East

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for an early morning game drive through Tsavo West.

Continue your safari until approximately 9:30 AM, then leave Tsavo West and travel towards Tsavo East National Park.

Arrive at approximately 10:30 AM and begin your game drive, continuing until lunchtime.

Proceed to your lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, head out for another game drive through Tsavo East, continuing until sunset.

Return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 11: Tsavo East – Watamu / Malindi / Mombasa

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for your final morning game drive.

Continue exploring Tsavo East until approximately 10:00 AM, giving you one last opportunity to enjoy the park and observe its wildlife.

Leave the park and continue towards Watamu, Malindi or Mombasa, with arrival expected around lunchtime.

Your 11-day Kenya safari comes to an end as you arrive at your chosen coastal destination.
