This itinerary combines the spectacular scenery of Taita Hills with the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Tsavo West and the vast wilderness of Tsavo East. With several game drives throughout the safari, you will have plenty of opportunities to experience Kenya’s wildlife from different perspectives.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Taita Hills

Departure from your hotel, resort or apartment at approximately 5:30 AM, heading towards Taita Hills.

The journey takes you through the Kenyan countryside, with changing landscapes and views of local communities along the way.

We expect to arrive at the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary at approximately 10:30 AM, where we begin our first game drive.

Morning Game Drive

Explore the sanctuary until approximately 1:00 PM, searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes and other wildlife.

After the morning game drive, we head to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

The selected lodge is built on stilts, providing a unique setting from which to enjoy the surrounding natural environment.

Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we set off for another game drive through Taita Hills.

Continue exploring the sanctuary until sunset, taking in the spectacular scenery and looking for wildlife as the afternoon cools.

After sunset, we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: Taita Hills to Tsavo West

After breakfast, we depart at approximately 6:00 AM for an early morning game drive in Taita Hills.

Enjoy the cooler morning hours and one more opportunity to spot wildlife before leaving the sanctuary.

At approximately 10:30 AM, we leave Taita Hills and continue towards Tsavo West National Park.

Upon arrival, we begin exploring the park, known for its dramatic landscapes of volcanic hills, open plains, lakes and natural springs.

Mzima Springs

One of the highlights of Tsavo West is Mzima Springs, a beautiful natural water source famous for its clear waters and wildlife.

Depending on park conditions and access, you may see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birdlife around the springs.

The area can also be explored on foot with the assistance of park rangers, offering a different perspective of the Tsavo wilderness.

After exploring Tsavo West, we proceed to the selected lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation.

Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we head out for an afternoon game drive.

Explore the park’s diverse landscapes and search for wildlife as the afternoon progresses towards sunset.

We then return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 3: Tsavo West to Tsavo East

After breakfast, we depart at approximately 6:30 AM for a morning game drive through Tsavo West.

Make the most of the early hours to explore the park and look for wildlife before continuing towards Tsavo East National Park.

We leave Tsavo West and continue our journey towards Tsavo East, one of Kenya’s largest protected wilderness areas.

Upon arrival, we begin a game drive through the park, exploring its vast savannah and searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes and predators.

We then proceed to the selected lodge or tented camp, located near a waterhole where animals regularly come to drink.

Enjoy lunch and some time to relax before heading back into the park.

Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we set off for an afternoon game drive.

Explore Tsavo East until sunset, enjoying the spectacular scenery and searching for wildlife across the savannah.

After sunset, we return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 4: Final Tsavo East Game Drive and Return

After breakfast, departure at approximately 6:30 AM for your final Tsavo East game drive.

The early morning offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing as many animals are active during the cooler hours around sunrise.

Continue exploring the park until approximately 10:30 AM, before leaving Tsavo East and beginning the journey back to your hotel, resort or apartment.

During the return journey, there may be opportunities to stop at local villages and experience more of the Kenyan countryside.

We expect to arrive back at approximately 1:00 PM, around lunchtime.

Your 4-Day Taita Hills, Tsavo West and Tsavo East Safari comes to an end after four days of wildlife encounters, spectacular landscapes and unforgettable experiences across three of Kenya’s remarkable safari destinations.
