This 3-Day Tsavo East Safari is ideal for travellers who want to spend more time exploring the wilderness and experience the landscapes and wildlife of Tsavo East at a relaxed pace.

With two nights in the park, the itinerary allows you to enjoy several game drives, visit some of Tsavo East’s most remarkable locations and experience different parts of the park without feeling rushed.

Day 1: Journey to Tsavo East and Game Drives

Your safari begins at 7:00 AM, with pick-up from your resort or apartment and departure towards Tsavo East National Park.

As we travel inland, enjoy the changing scenery of the Kenyan countryside and observe everyday life in the local communities and traditional villages along the way.

After approximately two and a half hours, we reach the area near the park entrance and the famous Galana River. Depending on wildlife activity, you may have the opportunity to see crocodiles along the riverbank and take photographs of the surrounding landscape.

At approximately 10:30 AM, we enter Tsavo East National Park and begin our first game drive.

Lunch and Relaxation

After exploring the park, we head to your selected lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

The lodge is situated close to a waterhole where wildlife regularly comes to drink, giving you the opportunity to watch animals from a comfortable setting while taking a break from the day’s activities.

Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we head back into the park for an afternoon game drive.

Explore the Tsavo wilderness as the afternoon progresses, searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes and other wildlife while enjoying the spectacular scenery.

The game drive continues until sunset before we return to the lodge.

Enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay in Tsavo East.

Day 2: Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rock and Full-Day Safari

After breakfast, we depart at approximately 6:30 AM for a full day of exploring Tsavo East.

The morning game drive takes us towards Lugards Falls, one of the park’s most impressive natural attractions. The journey offers plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife while taking in Tsavo’s dramatic landscapes.

The cooler morning hours are particularly rewarding for game viewing, as many animals are active before the heat of the day.

Morning Game Drive and Lunch

We continue our game drive until approximately 1:00 PM, exploring the surrounding wilderness and searching for wildlife along the route.

We then return to the accommodation for lunch and a relaxing break.

Mudanda Rock Afternoon Game Drive

At approximately 4:00 PM, we set out again for the afternoon game drive, heading towards the spectacular Mudanda Rock.

Rising above the surrounding landscape, Mudanda Rock offers impressive panoramic views across Tsavo East. It is a wonderful place to appreciate the scale of the wilderness and enjoy the scenery.

We continue our game drive through the afternoon before returning to the accommodation at approximately 6:00 PM, after sunset.

Tonight, you will stay at a tented camp, giving you a different way to experience the atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Enjoy dinner before settling in for your second night in Tsavo East.

Day 3: Final Morning Game Drive and Return Journey

After breakfast, we depart at approximately 6:30 AM for your final game drive in Tsavo East.

This early morning safari gives you one last opportunity to explore the park and encounter wildlife before beginning the journey back to the coast.

At approximately 10:30 AM, we leave Tsavo East National Park and begin the return journey towards your resort or apartment.

We expect to arrive back at your resort or apartment at approximately 1:00 PM, around lunchtime.

Your 3-Day Tsavo East Safari ends after three days of wildlife encounters, spectacular scenery and unforgettable moments in the Kenyan wilderness.
