This extended itinerary brings together Kenya’s diverse landscapes and wildlife experiences, including the open savannah of the Masai Mara, rhinos and flamingos at Lake Nakuru, magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, the mountains and waterways of Tsavo West, a ranger-guided walking safari at Mzima Springs, a thrilling night safari in Taita Hills, and the vast wilderness of Tsavo East.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Depart in the morning from Nairobi Airport or your hotel and travel towards the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

Around lunchtime, arrive in Narok, a welcoming provincial town and the main gateway to the Masai Mara, where you will stop for lunch.

After lunch, continue towards the Masai Mara and begin your first game drive, exploring the reserve until sunset.

Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara.

Enjoy an extensive game drive through the reserve, with a stop for a packed lunch in the middle of the savannah.

Continue exploring the reserve throughout the afternoon before returning after sunset.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge or tented camp.

DAY 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast and travel towards Lake Nakuru, famous for its rhinos and large numbers of pink flamingos.

Arrive at approximately 12:00 PM and proceed directly to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

At 3:30 PM, set out for an afternoon game drive around Lake Nakuru, continuing until sunset.

Return to the lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 4: Lake Nakuru – Amboseli

Depart at 6:30 AM and travel towards Amboseli National Park.

Amboseli is renowned for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating an impressive backdrop across the savannah.

Arrive at your lodge or tented camp at approximately 1:00 PM for lunch and relaxation.

At 3:30 PM, head out for an afternoon game drive through Amboseli and continue until sunset.

Return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 5: Amboseli – Tsavo West

Depart at 6:30 AM for your final morning game drive in Amboseli.

Continue exploring the park until approximately 8:30 AM, then leave Amboseli and travel towards Tsavo West National Park.

Tsavo West is characterised by mountains, lakes and rivers, supporting a wide variety of wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, birds and big cats. There may also be opportunities to spot leopards.

Arrive at approximately 10:30 AM and begin your game drive.

Continue exploring the park until approximately 1:00 PM, then proceed to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

At 4:00 PM, head out for another afternoon game drive until sunset. During the afternoon safari, you will also visit the Rhino Sanctuary, a fenced reserve established to protect some of the remaining rhinos from poaching.

After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 6: Tsavo West – Taita Hills

Depart at 6:30 AM and continue your safari towards Mzima Springs, where the source of the Tsavo River is found.

The springs are home to crocodiles and hippos, and here you will enjoy a walking safari accompanied by rangers, offering a different way to experience the wildlife and natural surroundings.

At approximately 10:30 AM, leave Tsavo West and continue towards Taita Hills, where you will have the opportunity to experience an exciting night safari accompanied by a ranger.

The night safari allows you to experience the reserve after dark, with opportunities to witness nocturnal hunting activity and observe animals that prefer to move through the savannah after sunset.

Arrive at the reserve at approximately 11:00 AM and begin your game drive.

Continue until approximately 1:00 PM, then enjoy lunch and relaxation at a lodge built on stilts.

At 4:00 PM, set out for another game drive until sunset.

Return to the lodge for dinner.

At 7:00 PM, the night safari begins, accompanied by a ranger.

At approximately 9:00 PM, return to the lodge for overnight accommodation.

DAY 7: Taita Hills – Tsavo East

Depart at 6:30 AM for another morning game drive in Taita Hills.

Continue your safari until approximately 11:00 AM, then leave Taita Hills and travel towards Tsavo East National Park, the largest national park in Kenya.

Arrive at approximately 11:40 AM and begin your game drive, continuing until around 1:00 PM.

Proceed to your lodge or tented camp for lunch and relaxation. The accommodation is located near a waterhole where animals come to drink, providing an excellent setting for wildlife observation.

At 4:00 PM, head out for another afternoon game drive through Tsavo East until sunset.

Return to the lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 8: Tsavo East – Watamu / Malindi / Mombasa

Depart at 6:30 AM after breakfast for your final morning safari.

Enjoy one last game drive through Tsavo East until approximately 10:00 AM, then leave the park.

Continue your journey towards Watamu, Malindi or Mombasa, with arrival expected around lunchtime.

This marks the end of your safari.
